- ★ ☆ ☆ ☆ ☆I was researching tax preparers for a friend and contacted Jackson Hewitt in April 2017. The person I spoke with advised that the cost of the return could vary between $100 - $300 based on the complexity and number of forms used. The person was pleasant and seemed knowledgeable. I had also noted a recent Google review from another person that was positive. Thus, I recommended Jackson Hewitt to my friend. Later, my now (rightfully) agitated friend sent me a note, “Thank you for recommending Jackson Hewitt – NOT!”. They were charged $295 for a 3 page SHORT FORM! WOW! Based on this, I will not be recommending Jackson Hewitt again.By John C, September 01, 2017
